Or Ami's Social Action Committee is active with Habitat for Humanity, CARITAS for the homeless and sponshorship of a Somali refugee family. The children in our religious school participate in an annual Mitzvah Day. We collect food for the Food Bank and we are always looking for volunteers for worthwile social projects.

Social Activities

Fellowship is an important aspect of Or Ami's congregational life. Or Ami retains a cohesive sense of family by encouraging its members to meet in a social atmosphere as well as for religious purposes. We have family actiivities as well as adult social events. The congregation ponsors fundraising events, movie nights and get togethers of all types. Social events are planned around religious services and holidays such as Shabbat dinners, Oneg Shabbats, potluck lunches after adult education, a Purim play, a Shavuot ice cream social and break-the-fast held yearly after Yom Kippur services. All our dinners are potluck and the congregation is blessed with excellent and creative cooks.
